Day 337: Watercress with Orange & Mustard Dressing

Too bad.

The watercress was gorgeous. The orange and mustard dressing seemed so promising after Day 335's mache with a delicious orange and cumin dressing.

Too bad. The dressing was just blah. Too bad, too bad, too bad.

  1. Your picture look great with classic spoons. antiqued ones. is it true.

  2. Thank you, Ramya, they are a beautiful set, indeed. But they're contemporary pieces, the work of South African artist Carrol Boyes. Some of her work is quite sensual, these are most tame!

Thank you for asking: I'm quite fond of them.

  3. I've wanted to try watercress, but never have much luck finding it - I see the signs but they never have it! I'll have to remember this when I can actually get some!

  4. Joe -- when you do find watercress which is sooo lovely when it's good, don't make this dressing. It's toooo blah, a big waste of watercress or even iceberg! Check the index for Salad Greens, that'll give several good ideas, including one last week with orange/cumin which was delicious.

  5. Hmm. I would have used all the same dressing ingredients, but just used 1 teaspoon of orange zest, no juice. And I would have added a half teaspoon or teaspoon of sugar to balance the lemon.

God I love watercress. I'm still furious that our local market stopped carrying it. What is this world coming to?!
